Keeping It Wrapped in Alabama!

Our latest post comes from Wren Collier, who found this on 9/18/2010 at the Anniston Museum of Natural History. Located at 800 Museum Dr in Anniston, AL, the museum offers a wide array of "collections that relate to humankind and the natural environment and interprets these through interdisciplinary exhibits and programs." One of the latest exhibits, simply called 'Ancient Egypt', offers a look at the Egyptians' fabled belief systems and includes some 2,300-year-old Ptolemaic Period mummies. According to research, Ancient Egyptians in 1000 B.C. utilized an early form of the condom by wrapping linen sheaths around the tips of their penises in response to a terrible syphilitic outbreak.
